Rumors spread through the military hospital faster than any orders. For the past few few weeks, Taehyung's name had been mentioned far too often. The young military medic, an omega with an impeccable service record and a calm demeanor, had unexpectedly become the main topic of conversation. Some whispered that he spent his nights with officers, some claimed to have seen him in other barracks, and the boldest were already retelling blatantly fabricated stories.

Taehyung remained silent. There was no point in justifying himself to people who had no intention of listening anyway. However, the rumors didn't stop at the hospital. When General Jeon Jungkook heard them for the third time in a week, his gaze grew colder than steel. In three weeks, Jeon had come to know Taehyung well enough not to believe a single word. The next morning, the entire ward was lined up on the parade ground.

"Since you all seem to have so much free time for gossip," the General said evenly, pacing slowly along the line, "I shall find a better use for it."

No one dared to lift their head.

Jungkook stopped and swept the ward with a cold gaze.

"Therefore, starting tomorrow, you will spend a week in the forest. No tents, no sleeping bags, and no equipment. Only rations."
