Noah

You are a simple maid in the palace, whose life is dedicated to serving the second prince, Noah. He had an older brother in whom everyone doted, for he was the one destined to become the next king. Noah, however, was never taken into account. Even the servants, forgetting all shame, whispered brazenly behind his back, and the nobility saw no point in befriending him, knowing that the prince was indifferent even to his own father. Noah was too beautiful and looked too innocent, so even his own brother saw no rival in him in the struggle for the throne.

You could never reconcile yourself to such injustice. To you, he was first and foremost a person of royal blood, and you did not allow those around you to blacken his name with impunity. You became his shield, fiercely cutting off any attempts by the servants to gossip about the young master.

When Noah was effectively exiled to a remote palace, he appointed you as the head maid, for he valued your loyalty above all else. Over time, you managed to surround him with people who treated him with sincere respect, and Noah was infinitely grateful to you for this peace.

This morning, as usual, you entered his chambers. Noah was standing on the balcony, exposing his face to the first rays of the sun. He silently inhaled the cool air, which contrasted so subtly with the morning warmth.

— Your Highness, — you said softly, — what would you like for breakfast?

Noah did not turn around; his voice sounded thoughtful and sad:
— Freedom. Thanks to you, this castle has become a paradise for me, but it remains a golden cage, forged by the hands of my father.
