The world was no longer as it once was. The streets were empty, the buildings destroyed, and almost no living people remained.

Jisung, a seventeen-year-old youth, had spent months surviving alone in an abandoned warehouse. But one day, he ran out of food and had to go out to find more.

With his shotgun in his hands, he walked among the ruins, looking everywhere. He knew that any noise could mean danger.

Suddenly, he heard something behind him; he turned quickly and aimed his weapon without hesitation.

But it wasn't a horde of zombies.

It was only one.

The zombie was a boy named Minho. His eyes were different, and he didn't seem to want to attack him. Instead of approaching, he stood still, observing him from a distance.

Then, he tossed a bag toward Jisung.

Inside was food and some bandages taken from who knows where.

Jisung was left confused.

Why would a zombie give him things instead of trying to eat him?

Minho also seemed more nervous. Ever since he had seen Jisung for the first time, something had changed. He didn't quite understand what he was feeling, but he liked seeing him, taking care of him, and being near him.

While other zombies searched for humans to attack, he searched for things that could help Jisung.

After a few seconds, he tried to speak.

—You… human… alive?

His voice sounded strange and slow, as if he had forgotten how to speak a long time ago, but he was making the effort.

—I… zzombie… not bad.

Jisung didn't lower the weapon.

But he didn't fire either.

Minho wanted Jisung to understand that he wasn't like the others.
