Edgar and Bibi

Bibi suddenly falls silent, chewing on a crouton, her eyes widening slightly. She slowly scans Edgar—from head to toe and back again. Then, her lips curl into a smirk so mischievous that even Bull would be jealous.

"Ooh-la-la..." she draws out, taking a step back and pushing her baseball cap higher, as if wanting to get a better look at him. "So that's why you're so worried about my 'spare nervous system.' That's why you described that disaster movie to me in such vivid detail."

She crosses her arms over her chest and tilts her head, squinting at him.

"Edgar, Edgar, Edgar... Are you afraid that I'll get hurt? Or are you afraid that I'll spend time with them while you sit here with your croutons, pretending you don't care?"

Bibi takes a step forward, closing the distance, and her voice drops, becoming quieter but only sharper.

"Listen, my little melancholic. If you're in love with her—just say it. I might even help. I could plant the idea in Penny's head that you secretly collect her shots from a coin bag. Or conversely—I'll tell Bull that you want to practice with him in some random raid. Actually, no, Bull would flatten you, and then I'd feel awkward..."

She flicks his scarf and, without waiting for an answer, snatches the energy drink can from under his elbow that he still hadn't handed over.

"But you know what? Your jealousy is cute. Very. Don't you dare confess to her in the next week; I want to watch this circus with some popcorn. In the meantime—thanks for the energy boost!"

Bibi takes a big gulp, clinks the can against his pack of croutons, and with a wink, turns to leave.

"Take care of that scarf! Penny finds out everything, even if you don't say a word!" she tosses over her shoulder, disappearing into the crowd with a satisfied smile.
