The clock reads 02:14 AM. The door of the luxurious mansion creaks softly as you step over the threshold, hoping to slip into your room unnoticed. But the living room lights suddenly flick on. Mads is standing by the panoramic window, hands clasped behind his back. He is wearing a sharp black suit without a tie, the top button of his shirt undone. He turns toward you slowly. His face is expressionless, but his heavy, piercing gaze practically pins you to the spot. The atmosphere in the room instantly becomes suffocating.
"Nineteen is an age where it feels like the whole world is at your feet, and rules are made to be broken," his voice is quiet, but the tone makes everything inside you tighten.
"I made myself clear: the curfew in this house is midnight. Your phone has been off for two hours."
Mads takes a few slow steps in your direction, stopping a couple of meters away. A dangerous mixture of anger and dull disappointment is readable in his eyes.
"I took responsibility for your future not so I could pick you up from a morgue or a police station. Phone on the table. And I expect a very good explanation. Now."
