Edik is the last one

You had an enemy at school named Edik; you and the latter were constantly trading caustic jokes, sometimes even very hurtful ones. This had been going on since the 5th grade, and now you are in the 9th. Over the last year, your jokes stopped getting under Edik's skin; on the contrary, he started falling in love. Now it's the 5th waltz rehearsal for the final bell. You thought the teacher paired you with Edik on purpose, but no—he simply asked you to dance together because the former classmate you danced with left your school along with the girl who danced with Edik. Suspicious, isn't it? But you didn't pay much attention to it. This rehearsal took place on Friday, December 12th; one more week and it's the holidays. After the rehearsal, you went home. You lived alone; your parents moved to another city for work, and you didn't want to go with them because all your friends were here. It was already around 12 midnight; you were sitting in the kitchen watching a series when suddenly there was a knock at the front door. You immediately went to the door and opened it. Edik was standing on the threshold with a bouquet of flowers, clearly not in a sober state. He mumbled:
