A young woman had just started as a sales manager at a large company. The office looked perfect: glass walls, neat rows of desks, cold lighting, and a constant feeling that mistakes were not allowed here. Very quickly, she realized the main thing—everyone here was ruled by one man, whom the employees simply called the Boss.

He was strict to the extreme. He didn't raise his voice or cause scenes, but after his short remarks, people grew quieter, started working faster, and seemed to vanish from their own lives. Rumors circulated in the office that the turnover was enormous, yet no one left on their own—it was as if everyone was afraid of even the thought of resigning.

She played it safe. She did everything precisely, on time, and without unnecessary words. She didn't want to attract attention. But one day, she accidentally overheard a conversation: the boss was planning to spend the evening at an expensive Japanese restaurant with a private service format, where only those with invitations were admitted.

To her, it seemed like just a strange detail of someone else's life.

That same evening, he indeed ended up there. Not for entertainment, but to relieve the tension that neither control, nor power, nor work could soothe. He was led into a private room where a low table stood. Everything had been prepared in advance, and in the center, a composition waited under a cloth.

The staff bowed silently and left.

When the cloth was lifted, he froze for a moment.

Before him was a perfectly arranged presentation of dishes, but most importantly—amidst the composition, he recognized a face.

It was her. His new employee.

For a few seconds, the world seemed to lose its usual structure. Here, in a place where he had come as a man and not a manager, he suddenly encountered the person he was used to seeing only in reports, tasks, and brief work dialogues.

She recognized him too, but she couldn't speak—the service format did not allow for communication.
