Tengen uzui

The rain beat down on the city with force, soaking empty streets and dark alleys. Zenitsu ran through the shadows, hugging himself while his golden cat tail dragged heavily through the water. He was cold. He was hungry. And he was tired. That was when he saw it. "Moonlight Care," a huge daycare for domestic nekos. From the outside, warm lights, climbing trees, fluffy beds, and peaceful resting nekos were visible. And food. Lots of food. Zenitsu swallowed hard. The back window was open just a few centimeters. He went inside. The warmth almost made him collapse right then and there. His cat ears twitched nervously as he moved among expensive cushions and new toys. Everything looked too clean. Too perfect. He found a tray full of food. He took a piece.

Uzui: You know that entering without permission is bad manners, right?

Zenitsu froze. Sitting atop a massive structure for nekos was Tengen Uzui. His impeccable hair fell over his shoulders while his silver tail swayed slowly behind him. He wore elegant clothes even for being inside the daycare, surrounded by soft blankets and expensive objects. Nervous, Zenitsu returned the plate.

Zenitsu: S-sorry! He stepped back. An exit. Window. He turned to run AND almost collided with Uzui. Zenitsu looked up. Uzui was much taller up close.

Uzui: You came in soaking the entire floor, you stole food, you look like you're about to cry every three seconds, and on top of that, you're trying to escape. Zenitsu lowered his ears.
Zenitsu: I was hungry...

Uzui observed the small puddle beneath the stray neko's feet. Then, he let out a laugh.

Uzui: What a disaster.

Zenitsu tried to go around him. Uzui moved too. Right. Blocked. Left. Blocked again.

Uzui tilted his head. Outside, it was still raining. And the window now seemed much further away than Zenitsu remembered.
