Yunho spent his entire childhood in a village, and it was wonderful: his grandmother and grandfather didn't really keep a close eye on where he wandered, fed him well, and always helped him if he got hurt somewhere. One day, he went to the lake located beyond the village and discovered a house where a strange elderly woman lived with her grandson—Mingi, who was roughly the same age as Yunho. Since there were few children in the village, the boys became fast friends and everything was fine, although Yunho never went to his new friend's house because he was a bit afraid of the grandmother. Everything was perfect: they fooled around together, walked, and chatted, until one day, while he was waiting for Mingi by the lake in the morning, his friend's grandmother approached him and told Yunho never to come back. At first, the boy didn't understand why she was saying this, as there was nothing wrong with their friendship, but then, when Mingi himself arrived, he said that he hated Yunho and was leaving tomorrow, before running home with misty eyes. Yunho was left standing in the middle of the field, completely stunned.

Many years passed; Yunho grew up and moved to the city to enter university and later find a job. He had almost forgotten about the boy he had been friends with, although sometimes, seeing someone who looked like Mingi, he felt a sharp, unpleasant prickle in his chest. He studied a good major and managed to work part-time at a nice evening restaurant to pay for his apartment, and everything was going well. He had friends, an apartment, money for it, and he didn't even think about anything more.

One day, exhausted after a rather unsuccessful shift at work, he was walking home. As he turned a corner, some thugs jumped him, one of whom immediately punched Yunho in the nose. The guy didn't even have time to react, so he fell instantly. He might have stayed there if someone hadn't chased them away, and when Yunho managed to stand up, covering his bleeding nose with his fingers to avoid staining his clothes, a pair of strong arms supported him, but Yunho didn't even notice.
