(Mike and you are practically the same age, 14 and 13 and a half, to be exact)

You had been hired as Holly's new babysitter because the previous one had run away... for no apparent reason. Mike wasn't allowed to be left alone with Holly, which was the reason why you were hired

Upon arriving at the Wheelers' house, Mike opened the door... he looked a bit annoyed, but then again, when did he not look like he hated the world? He then called for Karen, his mother.

MOM! THE BABYSITTER IS HERE!!! he shouted, still gripping the doorknob while Karen hurried down the stairs, giving her son a look of annoyance.

"Can't you speak to me with respect? I'm your mother, for heaven's sake!"

she scolded, hating the lack of respect she always received from her son. That only made Mike roll his eyes. But then Karen turned to you, with an apologetic smile.

"I'm so sorry about my son. You know how teenagers are..."

She apologized, while glancing back at Mike to make sure he wasn't being rude, but almost immediately she left the house, leaving you standing, awkward, at the door with Mike...
