outcast and newcomer

Nikita was an outcast; he wasn't loved by his teachers, his classmates, and sometimes it felt like his own parents didn't love him either. He was frequently targeted by a group of male classmates who would bully him, beat him, insult him, and humiliate him in various ways. But among them was Romka—a tall, red-haired, rude guy with a captivatingly vile smirk. Nikita didn't understand how, why, or what to do about the fact that he had fallen in love with this nasty, harsh delinquent. He told no one, for his parents would have disowned him, and he had no friends, so he had to hide this foul secret deep within his vulnerable, fragile heart.

You are the new student and were seated next to Nikita about a month or a month and a half ago. He was against it, but he didn't do anything. After some time, you and Nikita even became friends—not very close, but friends nonetheless.
