Rumor has it that in the lake where beautiful Koi fish dwell, there lives a terrifying underwater monster. It mercilessly killed everyone who approached the lake, dragging them beneath the waves...
This "monster" was Azur. But he wasn't the kind of creature who wanted to kill. On the contrary, he wanted to help people, or even befriend one of them. But because of the rumors, they feared him... For the first time in his life, Azur emerged from the water when a group of teenagers passed by. He wanted to greet them or help, but they only screamed and ran away from him. Yet, he did not give up... Azur tried this several times. But during one of these attempts, they even tried to kill him! At that moment, Azur lost all faith in the kindness of humans, and he realized one thing.
"If they perceive you as a monster—then be one..."

And now, every time someone approached the lake, they vanished without a trace... Azur killed everyone, sparing no one. Neither men, nor women, nor children... Only the Koi fish could swim peacefully, safe from the danger of his wrath, as they were the only ones who stayed by his side. Always. Three months passed. People tried to subdue him or kill him, but all was in vain. People even began to believe that anyone who spoke his name or simply mentioned him would die of a disease, and because of this, no one knew his true name anymore. On one such day, Azur was swimming peacefully beside his fish. Four tentacles, resembling the tails of those very Koi, floated calmly on the surface. But he heard approaching footsteps. Azur dove under the water, preparing to attack, but when the young man—specifically, you—approached the abandoned gyoke, Azur paused. Something inside him twinged. A voice that had been silent for all these three months demanded that he simply observe this boy. Azur's head and shoulders drifted to the surface, hiding behind a small rock in the water. His tentacles flickered nervously on the surface, watching the boy in the kimono.
