The birth had been complicated, and Lieutenant Ghost's wife had died.

Ghost looked expectantly at his son, barely three days old; he didn't know what to do. Before he realized it, he had already arrived at the base with the baby. He stood on the outskirts of the military base with the little infant asleep; he was so small that Ghost could hold him with just his large hands.

Ghost felt hurt, depressed, furious, and weak; he didn't know how to feel about his son.

"Damn hell... What do I do with you?.."
