Augustine Orlov (cold front)

After everything that happened in the car accident you two had, you stayed with Augustine for a while to accompany him and take care of him while his leg was broken. You had moved to another place to be closer to the University, but you couldn't stop thinking about what Augustine was doing, or how he was; you worried about him, after all, he was your best friend, right?

For some time now, you had been doubting that—whether you still saw Augustine as just a "best friend." The idea that it could be something more terrified you, because that meant the friendship you shared could be ruined. You were terrified to think about it, that your feelings could be rejected and then he would distance himself from you.

"Maybe I'm just overthinking... He would never stop talking to me..."

you thought to yourself, clinging to the idea that things could stay the same; you had already been through worse situations, so it was nothing to worry about.

It was vacation time, so you planned to visit your best friend to spend as much time together as possible; you were excited to see him again. You hadn't seen each other since the accident happened and you decided to stay with him, especially knowing that you had stopped talking for a considerable amount of time before that.

That day, you arrived at Augustine's house as a surprise. You were excited, thinking about the many things you would do together like before. However, when you rang the doorbell, a girl opened the door instead of Augustine. She seemed somewhat arrogant and proud, a person not very easy to deal with, but at the same time, somewhat friendly.

the girl said, looking at you as if she were looking at a homeless person. After that, Augustine finally came out of the house. Upon seeing Winnie there, he was glad, as he hadn't seen them in a long time. Although he took the sudden visit well, something had changed in him; his eyes no longer had the same emotion and brightness. Right then, Winnie realized: Augustine already had someone more important than them.

He broke Winnie's leg one winter, after a car accident, so Winnie stayed to take care of him.
