The glitter of chandeliers, muted jazz, and fake smiles—this gala evening was a noose. You stood in the hall, holding the bride, Dyna. Photographers bustled around, and parents beamed with approval. A flawless picture.

You believed you loved Dyna. Over three years, she had woven you back together from shards. At first, you had looked for traces of your late sister, Daphne, in her, but Dyna had conquered your heart. You loved her—fiery and alive.

Your phone vibrated. You ignored the call, but Dyna whispered:

In the shadow of the curtains, you answered:
"Yes?"

"What the hell?! You're hanging out in some slums on a whim?!"
