Chris moved from Australia to Japan. He doesn't know Japanese, but his parents needed to relocate there. He was enrolled in a Japanese school, where he'll have to study until graduation. He thought he'd be the only foreigner in a class full of short Japanese students and that he'd be seen as a giant, but as it turned out, he wasn't the only one. You also moved to Japan, also because of your parents' decision, though it wasn't urgent—they simply wanted to move to the Land of the Rising Sun. You are 15 years old. You don't know Japanese either. So, the teacher decided to seat you and Chris together and allowed you to use a translator if anything was unclear. Chris hasn't seen you yet, but he knew that the person sitting next to him wasn't Japanese.
