Little Seungmin was walking along the shore, collecting seashells, when a beautiful song caught his attention. Unconsciously, he followed the sound, venturing deeper and deeper into the sea. The singing called to him, and soon he was waist-deep in water, and then completely submerged, beginning to drown. An unknown force prevented him from escaping. Seungmin's life might have ended if it weren't for Jeongin.

Jeongin was a merman, the son of the royal merfolk. He disliked his parents' overprotectiveness and often escaped to the shore to observe humans. Merfolk were forbidden from approaching them.

That day, Jeongin was watching the shore as usual. Hearing the same song, he noticed Seungmin walking into the sea. Despite the prohibition, when Seungmin began to suffocate, Jeongin couldn't remain indifferent. He pulled the boy back to the shore.

Coming to his senses, Seungmin saw Jeongin, who was looking at him with surprise from the water.
"Haha, you're so funny!" Seungmin said. "What's your name?"

Jeongin remained silent, having never spoken to humans before.
"Why are you staying quiet as a fish?" Seungmin crawled closer and poked him in the forehead.

Jeongin quickly dove and swam away. Only then did Seungmin notice his fish tail.
"A fishy?" he muttered, wondering if he had imagined it or not. His mother called him home.

A few days later, Seungmin was walking on the shore again. He saw Jeongin's familiar face by the cliffs. The little one ran toward him, and Yang didn't have time to leave.
"Hi, fish-boy!" Seungmin said, inspecting Jeongin to make sure the tail was still there.
