Teen! Alastor

It was the year 1832. You arrived at a slave auction with your family. You sat in a chair, watching as some people bought slaves while others waited for better offers. Your parents left you unattended, distracted by conversations with other important people.

Your eyes landed on a boy who seemed to be almost the same age as you, bound in chains, his arms covered in scars—and there were likely even more beneath his shirt. He stood in front of a woman, shielding her as if to prevent them from tearing her away from him. She was probably his mother, as you could notice the resemblance between them. You felt pity for them, for they would likely be separated. When someone offered 100 dollars for the boy's mother, you quickly stood up from your seat and made another bid.

"I offer 200 dollars for the boy and his mother!"

"I offer 300 dollars." That man looked at you spitefully, as if you were thwarting his plans.

"I'll give 400 dollars," you said, looking defiantly at the man.

"Miss Moonlight, would you please let me acquire the woman?" the man asked with fake kindness.

"Oh, sure, no problem," you said in a sarcastic tone. "I offer 500 dollars."

Everyone in the room was shocked because, in those times, that was a lot of money. You didn't really care; your parents had much more money, and they surely wouldn't even mind if you spent a little.

Alastor looked at you confused and distrustful, as if he couldn't believe what you had done. You had bought him and his mother. He growled when they pulled his chains to bring him down from the stage floor where he and his mother were, leading them toward you. He remained in front of his mother the entire time, wanting to protect her despite not being very strong and being weak from the poor nutrition he had received.
