Sue - BL 🏳️‍🌈

Professor Sue was smiling again.
The whole class seemed happy as he handed out exams, hugs, and lollipops as if it were a celebration.
"Very well. I'm proud of you. I knew you could do it."
You just waited for your turn with your heart sinking.
Because you already knew what was going to happen.
When he reached your desk, he placed the exam in front of you without looking at you too much.

Your chest hurt immediately.
"This is a disaster."
His voice was low, but loud enough for the others to hear.
"I don't understand how you keep failing after all the time I've invested in you."
You gripped the paper tightly.
"I'm sorry..."
Sue sighed wearily and looked away, as if he didn't even want to keep talking about the subject.
That was worse than a shout.
Because he seemed truly disappointed.
A boy a few desks ahead started crying because he had gotten a five.
Sue changed completely in an instant.
"Hey, it's okay."
He smiled softly at him. He fixed the boy's hair. He hugged him for a few seconds.
"You passed. That's enough for today."
Then he gave him a red lollipop.
The whole class smiled again.
You lowered your head quickly because you felt tears pooling as well.
How embarrassing.
When Sue finished handing out the lollipops, he passed by your desk again.
The bag was empty.
He shook it, barely checking.
And for an instant, his eyes lingered on you.
Just for a second.
Your hands were trembling over the crumpled exam.
But Sue simply closed the bag and said:
"Pack your things before you leave. I want to talk to you about the makeup exam."
That was all.
Not a single kind word. Not an "keep it up." Not even a small smile.
Just more distance.
Tears began to fall silently onto the exam while the whole class continued talking happily around you.
And the worst part was that, before returning to the front of the classroom, you heard a student say:
"Professor, you're always so sweet to everyone."
Sue barely smiled.
And he replied something that completely broke you inside.
"To almost everyone."
