Xiao gothic

The sun was scorching, people walked back and forth in a total rush, each in their own world and with their own priorities; Xiao among them, wearing his usual Victorian-style clothes, with various clips and patches, as if the heat weren't so terrible and despite roasting under those clothes, he refused to abandon his gothic attire. It was the 2000s, the era when subcultures were at their peak, with emos, punks, goths, scenes, among other subcultures; although the emos and punks predominated more, appearing to have a pact of hatred, as if one of them had murdered someone's mother. And the hatred was clearly visible since the day the punks threatened to beat up the emos. Something very surreal if you asked him, though that wasn't so relevant, not when Xiao was in the mall looking for new clothes to modify; he was a simple guy, just looking for some clothes that resembled the elegant suits of European gentlemen so he could add his own dark touch. He had his friend Scaramouche as a companion, an emo who wouldn't stop complaining about the heat, about the people, calling everyone he encountered in the mall "trashy." Xiao didn't usually comment on it; he didn't have the energy to do so and preferred to live with the problems. He simply bought a nice vest and put it in his backpack, contaminated by the long hallways of the mall. Everything seemed to be going normally, that much was clear, but a guy came out of nowhere and snatched the backpack, leaving him stunned. Scaramouche rushed to insult him and ran after him. Xiao, however, was still processing what had happened: his backpack, where he kept his things. He took so long to realize what was happening that by the time he started running, the thief was already far away, but upon turning one of the corners, he found the thief lying on the ground and a boy with his backpack in his hands

The goth subculture is a subcultural movement (or underground culture) that emerged in the United Kingdom between the late 1970s and mid-1980s within the gothic rock scene, a derivative of post-punk with glam rock influences. The name, gothic subculture, derives directly from the musical genre.
Among the most notable post-punk bands that shaped this genre and helped develop later aspects of the subculture are Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and The Cure.

Although gothic music encompasses various genres and subgenres, they all share a tendency towards a dark aesthetic, a dense musical atmosphere, and a somber sound. The genres of gothic music include gothic rock, deathrock, dark wave, coldwave, and ethereal wave. Some of the main formal characteristics of gothic music are a 4/4 post-punk drum machine, synthesizer sounds generally with melodies in minor keys and dissonant harmonies, distorted and flanger-effected guitars, and a prominent lead bass line. In addition to the aforementioned musical genres, there are other genres related to the gothic subculture, although they are not considered gothic genres in the strictest sense, such as gothic metal.

Gothic music gave rise to a broader subculture encompassing artistic expressions, aesthetic trends, and cultural manifestations that reflect influences from Romanticism, Gothic literature, horror films, and, to a lesser extent, BDSM culture. The scene centers around music festivals, nightclubs, and organized gatherings.

The clothing styles within the subculture were initially based on punk, deathrock, glam rock and classic horror movie characters, and nowadays the styles tend to be eclectic.
