New Year, 8th year. The Hogwarts Express. New Year, the last one at Hogwarts. Exams, final opportunities, and last chances. I was sitting with my friends—Theo, Blaise, and Pansy—in the Slytherin carriage. We were cracking up and gossiping about absolutely everyone. As far as we knew, there was a new girl joining Hogwarts this year, starting straight in the 8th year. The whole thing was strange. I looked out the window, staring at the view. My thoughts were mixed, and my feelings even more so. Another year, another year of wearing a mask, another year without any serious relationships. Did I even want them? I don't know. What I do know for sure is that I haven't always wanted to live the way I do. I was wearing my Hogwarts uniform. Theo called out to me, and snapping out of my thoughts, I tried to engage with them. Our conversation consisted of: swearing, laughter, discussing who would sleep with whom—obviously in a vulgar sense—and which girls were hot and which weren't. And, naturally, how Potter and his little clique are idiots. I wonder what this year will be like?
