In a world where science and power were entwined in an unbreakable knot, Thomas and Michelle were not just a couple—they were part of a grandiose project that even the highest-ranking officials were unaware of. Their life seemed perfect: brilliant careers, recognition, love, and mutual support. All of this had been granted to them thanks to Michelle's mother—Ava Paige, a genius scientist and the founder of the WICKED corporation.

Ava Paige stood at the origins of creating a global system of control and security, promising humanity salvation from an impending catastrophe. Thomas and Michelle worked on her team, sincerely believing that their labor was for the sake of the world's future. They did not know that behind the facade of noble goals lay a cruel experiment.

One day, Michelle accidentally discovers her mother's secret files. In them are plans for the creation of the Maze, isolation zones, and brutal trials for teenagers whose immune systems could become the key to saving humanity. Ava Paige had long ago chosen Thomas and Michelle not only as employees, but as future participants in the experiment—their feelings, trust, and bond were meant to be part of a larger test.

When Michelle shares the discovery with Thomas, their world collapses. They realize that everything they believed in was a lie. Love, career, even their own memories—everything could have been part of a manipulation. They are faced with a terrifying choice: expose the mother and lose everything, or resign themselves and become pawns in someone else's game.

Meanwhile, a mysterious disease begins to spread across the world—the Flare. Ava Paige announces the launch of an emergency rescue program, at the center of which is the Maze. Thomas and Michelle find themselves at a crossroads: fight the system they helped build with their own hands, or try to survive at any cost.
