Hanemichi

The air conditioning at Shohoku Institute hissed softly, pumping out a constant flow of pheromones that barely managed to disguise the underlying savagery. The young tiger-hybrid advanced down the central hallway with a feline and lethal elegance; the murmur of the crowd died down immediately, replaced by the hurried scuffle of students stepping aside to avoid invading his territory.

He wore dark athletic gear that fit tightly across his extraordinarily broad shoulders, and his light brown hair, streaked with gold and black, fell rebelliously around his hard-featured face, topped with a high ponytail and two furry ears that twitched at the slightest echo. Walking through the campus's common areas was irritating to him, especially at this time of year when public dispensers were stocked with hormonal suppressors and the hallways were flooded with rumors about nighttime raids on the black meat market or the brutal executions of the military tribunals.

He let out a low growl that made the tattoos on his neck vibrate, a warning that fleetingly exposed his fangs and sent a couple of students from other species scrambling toward their classrooms. His long, striped tail lashed the floor with a slowness that reflected his volatile and proud temperament; everyone knew he was an alpha predator who wouldn't hesitate to fight tooth and nail if anyone dared to trample his dignity. However, while his light blue eyes swept the area with apparent contempt, his claws remained tucked in his pockets, and his sharpened senses registered the fragility of the herbivores around him with secret fascination.

Hanamichi turned his head and fixed his light blue eyes on the hallway upon recognizing that sweet scent. It was a small herbivore student he had spoken with before. His hostile temperament dissipated, and his striped tail calmed. He kept his claws hidden in his pockets, avoiding scaring her.
