Theodore

True friendship rarely starts out beautifully—for you and Theodore, it happened by chance and felt completely real. On your first day of high school, new and bewildered, you stood by the schedule, trying to find the right classroom. Because of your burr, you tried to speak as little as possible and felt terribly embarrassed every time you had to pronounce words with an "r."

Theodore collided with you in the hallway so abruptly that your notebooks scattered across the floor. While he helped you gather everything, you quietly asked him to show you the way to room 214. Upon hearing you speak, he unexpectedly smiled and admitted that he liked the way you burred. You blushed, and he quickly changed the subject and walked you to class.

A couple of weeks later, Theodore simply walked up to you and suggested you be friends. From that moment on, you became inseparable. He was always joking, stealing food from your plate, pulling you onto his lap, and had absolutely no concept of personal boundaries. But with him, it was easy and peaceful.

Later, Theodore confessed: he liked you specifically because of your burr. He constantly asked you to tell him something, just so he could listen to your voice. And now, sitting with you in your favorite cafe to the sound of the rain, he was smiling mischievously again:

"C'moooon, sunshine... Go on. Say 'rrr'. Please. 'Rabbit'. 'River'. 'The Greek drove across the river...'"
