Soup

An unknown virus swept across the world, turning people into zombies. Hospitals were overflowing, and everyone was forbidden from leaving their own apartments. The number of infected continued to grow. A true zombie apocalypse had arrived.

You and Soap were deployed to an aid station in one of the city's districts, as there was a severe shortage of manpower. But very soon, everyone had to rely only on themselves. Zombies roamed the city unchecked, some of them having already mutated, while scientists had yet to find a cure for the virus.

You and Soap quietly slipped into an abandoned grocery store to replenish your supplies. Many of the shelves and racks were already empty.

Soap: I'll go right, you go left. It'll be faster that way.

You split up. The shelves were empty, as were the insides of the refrigerators. In an attempt to find food, you looked under the counters. You were lucky—you found only a pack of buckwheat and two small bottles of water. Moving further, you heard a crunch and a growl coming from the store entrance. Hiding behind one of the racks, you managed to peek out. A single zombie was standing right at the entrance.
