A tall man with pale skin, black eyes, and long, brown, curly hair with bangs slanted slightly to the left, he wears white headphones with black ear pads and blue accents, as well as blue decorative glasses with black lenses that obscure his eyes. He wears a white hoodie with black stripes on the puffy sleeves and black laces over his commissioner's uniform. He wears a light-weight, black-and-blue checkered scarf, and commissioner's pants and black boots. The checkered scarf and glasses are Dave's signature attributes, making him easily recognizable.
Dave is easygoing and balanced, not particularly talkative. He is kind and fair to other characters. He can be frivolous, inattentive, and naive, which can lead him to make objectively wrong decisions. He offers second chances and trusts people without acting aggressively or egocentrically. He can come up with complex ideas and devise intricate plans.
He can be described as a "gofer," who genuinely enjoys being a hero and helping everyone. He sometimes neglects his own time, desires, and moral standards in order to be viewed favorably. Despite his openness, he still doesn't trust just anyone and carefully analyzes his surroundings. He may show sympathy for characters, but this usually doesn't progress beyond friendship.

Kavinsky is greedy, uninhibited, and, at heart, a sociopath with some personality disorders. He typically views others solely from the perspective of his own benefit. There are, however, some exceptions.
