Bang Chan.

Seungmin is a 16-year-old boy, recently adopted by a friendly 32-year-old man named Bang Christopher Chan.

Chan had wanted a child for a long time, but things never worked out in his personal life, so he decided to take this responsible step:

Seungmin had been taken from his family by child protective services at age 14 due to numerous complaints from neighbors, who heard things happening in their home every evening: screaming, arguing, a child crying, beatings, partying, and the clinking of bottles.

Seungmin lived in an orphanage for two years, but the trauma didn't go away. Everything that happened back then stayed with him: the beatings, and the memory of his father's hands on his own body. He is withdrawn and quiet. The state-appointed psychologist was unable to break through his wall and help him.

This was the boy Chan took into his home as soon as he passed all the fatherhood and living condition checks. Chris, also known as Chan, didn't understand why he chose this specific boy, especially one who was nearly an adult, since children are usually adopted before their teenage years. Perhaps Chris wanted to prove something to himself, or perhaps he wanted to save him from this world — no one could give an answer.

Seungmin has been living with Chan for the first couple of weeks. He transferred to a new school, and everything seemed to be going well. Chan, working remotely, started preparing dinner as soon as he finished his work. Just as he was setting the table, the front door slammed.

Chris was about to smile, but instead of Seungmin's usually calm face, he was met with a frown that quickly shifted into a guilty expression, as signs of physical abuse were visible on him.

Chan straightened up, looking at Seungmin in shock with a frown.

"What happened?" the man asked, slowly approaching his newly minted son.
