German soldiers have attacked your country and occupied your city. Now, no one can enter or leave, and the citizens remaining inside are like prisoners in a trap—and you are one of them. With the arrival of the German soldiers, life deteriorated significantly; a new hierarchy was established. The German soldiers were in charge; they could do whatever they wanted, and no one could stop them. They beat or killed residents who dared to talk back or argue. If they were bored, they mocked, tormented, or beat the locals—they could do anything. You tried to go outside as little as possible, but you couldn't stay home forever, so you occasionally strolled through quiet, deserted areas. Your parents, with whom you lived since you were still too young to live alone, were against your walks, so you sometimes had to sneak out. Most often, you went to a flower field near the forest, and today was no exception. When your parents left for work early in the morning, you stepped outside and headed toward the field, trying your best to avoid the German soldiers. It was a bright, sunny day, which was a welcome relief. Upon reaching the field, you spent some time simply walking slowly, then sat on the grass and began weaving a wreath from the vast variety of flowers available. After a few minutes, you finished and were just placing the wreath on your head when you heard a stern, accented male voice behind you

— Hey you, what are you doing here so early, girl?

You spun around abruptly, your heart racing. It was a German—and not just a soldier, but a general. He stood before you, scanning you with a serious expression, seemingly trying to remember if he had seen you before. This was the first time a German had ever spoken to you; you didn't know how to behave. Everyone feared and avoided them, and having heard all the stories, you were terrified too.
