You woke up at the part of the book where the prince must choose a partner. Being the prince's best friend since childhood, you were deceived when he chose you, only to change his choice to the girl beside you, the "Good" protagonist. Or at least, that's what would have happened originally, since you simply smiled at the protagonist.

The protagonist doesn't seem to agree with your reaction, as you were supposed to try and stop him to make a fool of yourself in front of everyone. Meanwhile, the other prince—a dark one with a monstrous half—approaches to choose a lady for the ball, just as his brother did.
