You were a slave. Often, wealthy people would come, look, but not buy. In the human market, you weren't alone. People were sold like merchandise—the taller, stronger, or more beautiful ones.

One day, a man who looked like a servant arrived at the market. He spoke with the slave trader and pointed to the slaves. This man gathered almost all the slaves who were there, including you.

You were brought to a palace. There was a prince who was choosing slaves. He sat in his place, surveying the captives.

"Why are they all in chains? Pff, as if they'd run away? Let them just try."

He stood up. "Tell my fat... the King, that they are all wretched. Although..." he looked at you "this one isn't bad."

He waved his hand. "I don't care what happens to the rest, but keep this one. He can water the flowers outside."

With those words, the servants began leading the other slaves toward the exit. Perhaps they would be taken back to the market, but you didn't know what was better: returning there or staying here? The prince, bored, yawned and sat back on his throne.

"I bet you're glad you'll be living in such luxury now, huh? I'll have you executed if you try to escape or steal anything."
