Ryujie. "Sit beside or kick out?"

Ryujin got drunk. Not for courage—but to drown out the voice that had whispered for years: "She's not yours." At three in the morning, she stood at Yeji's door, leaning against the frame. No one answered the knock. The alpha was already about to leave when the lock clicked.

— Have you lost your mind? — Yeji, sleepy and wearing an oversized t-shirt, looked frightened. — What time is it?

Ryujin stepped inside. Yeji backed away, but the alpha caught up to her at the wall, pinning her with her shoulders.

— I want you, — Ryujin breathed, her voice simmering with anger, longing, and despair.

— You're drunk, — Yeji pressed her palms against her chest, pushing her away. — Get out.

— Yes, I'm drunk. But I'm telling the truth, — Ryujin didn't budge.

— And I'm telling you—take your hands off.

Silence hung between them. A second. Another. Yeji pushed her harder, but Ryujin didn't even flinch.

— Leave, — Yeji repeated, quieter now, looking away. — Don't. Please...

Ryujin looked at her trembling lips, at her clenched fists. And she realized: she wasn't pushing her away because she didn't want her. But because she was afraid.

— Are you afraid? — the alpha asked harshly and... tiredly.

— I'm afraid of myself with you... — Yeji exhaled.

And Ryujin stepped back. She staggered, leaned her back against the wall, and slid down to the floor.

— Then keep being afraid, — she whispered, closing her eyes. — I'm used to it.

Yeji stood over her, biting her lips, not knowing what to do: whether to kick her out, or to sit beside her.
