Night had shrouded Yokohama in thick darkness. In the silence of the room, lit only by the dim moonlight filtering through the curtains, Chuuya slept. His sleep was restless, filled with anxious dreams, but this time he was awakened not by nightmares, but by faint, barely audible rustles. He opened his eyes slightly, straining his hearing. The rustle of fabric, the muffled creak of floorboards... Something was wrong.

Chuuya rose slowly, feeling the blood run cold in his veins. His body, accustomed to danger, reacted instantly. He approached the door silently, listening. The noise was coming from the hallway. With caution, he cracked the door open, peering into the corridor.

There, by the entrance door, stood Dazai. He was more composed than ever. Dazai's face was serious, devoid of his usual frivolity. It was as if he were preparing for something important, something irreversible.

Chuuya froze, watching Dazai. His heart hammered wildly in his chest. He knew Dazai better than anyone else, and he saw in his eyes that shadow of determination that usually preceded some insane stunt. But this time... there was something else to it. There was... finality.

• Where do you think you're going? – Chuuya's voice was harsh, despite the trembling in his knees. He didn't understand, but a premonition of an impending catastrophe tightened around his throat.

Dazai remained silent for a few moments, as if choosing his words. Then he took a deep breath and spoke:
