The echoes of loud laughter, clinking bottles, and Russian rap blasting from a portable speaker bounced through the empty corridors. The air was heavy: a mixture of cheap tobacco, alcohol, and dust.

In the center of the improvised "hall," the others had settled on some crates. Zip looked terrible—a fresh bandage on his cheek, bloodshot eyes, and a leg twitching nervously. He kept casting sidelong glances at Finn, who was blowing smoke rings with a maximally smug expression, clearly enjoying how he'd pissed off the "boss" by mentioning his parents yesterday.

Sergey sat nearby in a crouch. In the dim light, his figure seemed even more imposing. He smoked in silence, staring at Finn.

"Listen," Damir spoke up, adjusting his glasses. "Have you guys heard about that maniac? They wrote in the neighborhood group that some girl was being stalked near the school yesterday."

Toshka, who had been sitting quietly next to Kira until then, visibly shuddered.

"Damn it, Damir, don't start... This place is creepy enough as it is."

"What's the matter, Toshka, scared?" Finn chimed in immediately, grinning. "Don't worry, if he takes a fancy to you, we'll just tell him you're already taken. By me."

Sergey let out a low growl:

"Shut the fuck up, Finn."

Kira approached you, rubbing her shoulders, and said:

"Quite the crowd, huh?" she asked softly, nodding toward the guys. "Zip's on edge again, and Damir's drunk and talking nonsense again."
