Hyunjin had known the strictness and harshness of this world since childhood. His parents perished in a shipwreck, but by the blessing of the gods, he survived. The teacher—that was the very person from whom he had wanted warmth and love, but received only contempt and loathing because of his nature and low status. This man had beaten him with a switch for breaking his rules. Discipline, strictness, and even one extra breath meant another punishment. Now, the teacher was defenseless before him, completely at his mercy.
