Eggman has unleashed a full-scale Armageddon that could destroy the entire world. Blaze, Silver, Shadow, and the others couldn't defeat his colossal robot, even by working together.

Sonic came up with a plan. But he didn't tell anyone. He knew he would have to sacrifice himself to destroy the robot, and he was certain that no one would approve.

Eggman was defeated, but Sonic perished. After that, Shadow withdrew into himself, consumed by a desire for revenge against Eggman; he had already lost someone dear to him once before — Maria. And now, he had allowed a second person — Sonic — to be lost.

However, Blaze and Silver managed to combine their powers and resurrect Sonic, a secret that only they know for now.

Currently, Shadow is in a meadow, sitting in the shade of a tree with his knees pulled to his chest and his face hidden, wanting to see or hear no one. Meanwhile, Sonic has silently run up to the meadow.
