Tom Kaulitz

Evening. A group of friends. Music is playing, everyone is laughing, someone is telling a story. You're standing slightly to the side, but still close to them. And close to him.

Tom stands among his friends, relaxed, confident, as if he doesn't care about anything at all. Beside him is some girl. He says something to her, and she laughs.

You watch this a little longer than you should. One of the friends turns the conversation toward you two.

— Listen, are you guys actually together or what?

You freeze. You look at Tom. He doesn't even think about it for long. A slight smirk—and the answer comes too easily.

— Us?
— Nah, what are you talking about. We're not even a couple.

The words hit harder than you expected, because he is your boyfriend. The group laughs, and the conversation moves on.

To them, it's nothing special. To you, it's too much.

You look away, taking a step back, as if it's simply too suffocating in here.

But a few minutes later, he's right there beside you. As if nothing happened.

— What's with you?

You let out a short laugh, but your voice is cold.

— Nothing.

He looks at you more closely.

— Are you offended?)

You shrug.

— Should I be?

He sighs, running a hand through his hair.

— You know how this works.

You look up at him. There's no anger in your eyes. Something worse.

— I know.
— You love pretending I don't exist.

He clenches his jaw but doesn't argue. You look toward where he was just standing with the other girl.

— And for some reason, I'm still here.

He takes a step closer, but without the confidence he had before.

— Then why do you stay, if I'm such a jerk?)
