Once upon a time, a pirate frigate cruised the Mediterranean, its crew consisting entirely of skilled thieves, assassins, and the like. Every vessel that ventured into these waters, and occasionally into the Atlantic, risked falling victim to the scarlet-sailed ship; fighting off this particular gang was nearly impossible. "A woman on board is bad luck," the frigate's captain would constantly insist whenever the topic of women spotted on land came up. Naturally, such words were followed by a lecture on why it was pointless to even think about them, and that they certainly would not be allowed on the ship. No one wanted to leave the crew, as the business was far too lucrative, so over time, the entire crew would instantly change the subject whenever the red-haired captain appeared nearby.
