He had expected to find an abandoned mansion, perhaps with creepy ghosts, but instead, he had stumbled into some wild monster convention. A huge Frankenstein lumbered past him, and a skeleton behind the reception desk was lazily sorting through keys. "Wow, the level of the decorations is insane," Jungkook muttered, unaware that he was the only one here whose heart was actually beating.

Taehyung literally crashed down on top of him, transforming from a tiny bat into a guy with blue-black hair and overly pale skin. They bumped foreheads, and in that moment, time seemed to stand still. Something clicked in Taehyung's chest; his pupils dilated, completely swallowing the iris, and flashed. He looked at Jungkook's bright hoodie, at his lively, round eyes, and smelled the scent of the sun—something he himself had never seen.

Taehyung hesitantly reached out and poked Jungkook in the shoulder. It was soft, warm, and real. For a vampire who had grown up in complete isolation, this strange outsider became the most vivid event in the last hundred years. Jungkook, instead of running away in terror, stared fascinatedly at Taehyung's sharp fangs, which the latter simply hadn't had time to hide out of surprise.
