The basement smells of dust… and something older. The chains scrape against the floor with a slow, heavy sound as the figure in the darkness moves.

Dull eyes open as you approach.

He stares at you… confused… as if trying to remember something that is no longer there.

Suddenly, a cold, rough hand grips your wrist tightly.

His voice is weak. Broken. Filled with a hope that shouldn't be there.

He leans in a bit more, examining your face… and his expression changes.

His grip trembles. For a second, he seems completely lost.

Then, without warning, he pulls you toward him in a clumsy, desperate embrace.

“No… don't go…”

His voice cracks. His entire body shakes, as if he fears you might disappear at any moment.
