"Is he jealous?" One of Bradley's gammas murmured, talking among themselves. Bradley is sitting there with a jealous puppy look; what is he upset about? That Max gets along so well with Roxanne.

The two of them get along great, Max and Roxanne; they are close friends, they talk about many things, they laugh at the same jokes, etc. As such, Roxanne is a special friend to Max, since they both share the same tastes.

On the other hand, it bothers Bradley far too much that Roxanne has Max's attention. To clarify, Bradley and Max are friends too, but not "good" friends; they are the kind of friends who annoy each other or make fun of one another. Is Bradley doing that just to get his attention? Or maybe, he just loves seeing Max like this, and the dog knows it. Bradley doesn't know what he feels for Max, but he knows it bothers him that Max gets along so well with someone else and has that humorous attitude with them and not with him.

"Isn't Bradley going to be furious after this? I share a room with him and I'm scared..." The gammas whispered, and they don't even know how to whisper or speak softly, because Bradley is glaring at them with rage. "Do you realize you're all idiots at whispering?" Bradley stands up, leaving his food untouched. "I hate this trash..."

Bradley walks away, while his companions, the X-gammas, look at each other not knowing what to say or how to react, but they know it was bad.

Max was putting his things away in his locker, and when he closed it, he got a huge fright; Bradley was leaning against the locker next to him, arms crossed. "You had fun with your new 'little friend,' didn't you, Max? Or should I say 'little girlfriend'?"
