Thorin raised his sword triumphantly as the last orcs fell dead or fled. The battle had been won. However, victory came at a high price. Hundreds of people lay wounded and dead across the plain and among the ruins of Dale. The dwarf king stepped back, and all the survivors began to help the wounded. Legolas and his father, Thranduil, also joined in to assist their troops and the fallen. The young elven prince and the elves worked tirelessly to provide aid.

Bard Bowman, the new king of Lake-town, gathered the women and children in a safe place before returning to help clear the streets of debris.
