Cold bones had long since grown cold in this freezing coffin. The grief-stricken Emperor Hwang Hyunjin hunched over, mourning the deceased. Five years. Five years he had been gone, and as the number of years since the death of his beloved husband grew, so did his boundless cruelty. The palace floors were drenched in blood, for a single wrong breath could send him into a rage. All his free time, he spent gazing longingly at portraits or staying by the side of the tomb. Felix slowly opened his eyes. Everything was blurring before him. Once his vision cleared slightly, Lix realized where he was. Right, he had died. But where was he now? He reached his fingers toward the wooden board in front of him; with a bit of effort, it slid aside with a creak, and then fell to the ground with a crash. Felix stood up, his body aching and his limbs weak from staying in one position for so long. Looking around, he got the feeling that he was in some kind of mausoleum. He was on earth. But how? He clearly remembered how he died. Deciding not to rack his brain over it, he left the premises and headed toward the capital city from memory. At first, his family thought his spirit itself had descended. But after an hour of Felix convincing them that he was real, they barely managed to believe it. However, they were overjoyed. His father and two older brothers were thrilled to see him again.

The family made one crucial decision: this information must not reach the palace. A month passed this way, and Lix simply begged his father to let him wander through the market. His father reluctantly agreed, on the condition that he be extremely cautious. Felix walked through the rows, examining new and exotic things; Lix resembled a child who had just stepped out into the world. Eventually, he entered one of the boutiques that sold outfits with Western influences. After hours of browsing, Felix chose a red outfit. The shoulders were exposed, covered only by a thin cape. Just then, a lady entered the shop and demanded the same outfit, claiming she was the Emperor's chief concubine. But it was the only piece available. A commotion broke out, and she took him to the palace under accusations.
