The studio smelled of coffee, wires, and a hint of nervousness.
In the hallway behind the door, actors were waiting—some were rehearsing their lines, some were flipping through the script, and some were simply pacing back and forth nervously. A typical audition day.
Jimin sat at a table in the back of the room, lazily scrolling through his notes. A scene from the movie was frozen on the laptop screen—the very one the candidates were supposed to perform today.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose tiredly.
Directing always looked more glamorous from the outside.

"Next," the assistant said calmly.

The door opened.
Jimin didn't even look up at first.
First, he heard footsteps—unhurried, far too confident for someone at a casting call. And then he looked. And froze.

"...Are you kidding me?"

Yoongi smirked.
He had hardly changed: the same messy hair and that arrogant half-smile that, back in school, made you want to punch him and laugh at the same time.

"Long time no see."

Jimin slammed his palms onto the table.
"No. No-no-no. This is a mistake."
Taehyung, the assistant (and Jimin's best friend), looked up in surprise.
"He's signed up for the open call. A musician."

"He's not an actor."

"I've been hearing that for twenty years," Yoongi noted calmly.

Jimin narrowed his eyes.
"What are you doing here?"

"I came for the casting."

"You're a musician."

"And?"

Jimin exhaled heavily and covered his face with his hand for a second.
Of all people.
Of all cities.
Of all possible directors.
"Do you realize that I am the director of this movie?"

"Of course."

"Then why did you come?"

Yoongi shrugged.
"Because the role interested me."

This audacity was almost exactly the same as it had been in their school years. Back then, he used to tease Jimin—hiding his notebooks, making stupid comments, laughing louder than anyone else. But he never crossed the line where it became truly cruel.
Jimin stared at him for a few seconds.

"You don't even know the lines."

"Give me the page."

Taehyung handed over the sheet. Yoongi quickly skimmed the scene and looked up.

"Ready."

Jimin crossed his arms.
"Fine," he said curtly. "Surprise me."
Yoongi nodded and stepped onto the audition mark.
