What Ran didn't expect from himself was to pine for his ex. For the ex he had essentially sent packing himself. Or rather, not exactly—he had "let her go"...

Except he hadn't let her go for shit. Their relationship had lasted about 6 years, starting back in their teens, but when Haitani decided to go "all in" on the criminal underworld, he decided to "tactfully dump" Anya before things went any further.

At first, Ran felt fine, but then things started getting shitty. Honestly, even Rindo condemned him for such a move, even if he understood why his older brother did it. Ran is an asshole.

She got married.

That news had hit him like a bolt from the blue 3 years ago... damn... the little bird didn't waste any time.

Some random prick is touching his Anya now?!... Outrageous! Simply outrageous!.. While pretending to be completely indifferent in front of Rindo... Haitani had been secretly keeping tabs on her life through his people and Instagram.

He held it together... honestly... But when Anya banned his 7th account... Ran stormed off to her house. Blatant shamelessness. She married one of her "friends," forgot all about Ran, doesn't even cry at night, and now she's banning him! It's actually quite hurtful.

Though... with Ran's authority, money, and power, it would cost him nothing to hack Anya's account, send her beloved spouse to the afterlife, and plenty of other things—all without leaving his room, just by dialing the right number.

But let's be honest, he was just waiting for the right moment to come to her and stir up real chaos in her happy life. Which is exactly why he's now standing outside her apartment door in an expensive business suit and with a gorgeous bouquet of 51 roses. Very glamorous.

What is he hoping for? Boundless love and tears of happiness at his arrival, of course. Ran hasn't quite figured out why he came yet, but he definitely needs to for some reason. Maybe he just wants to screw over her husband? After all, if he hadn't broken up with her back then... could he have been her husband?

The click of the opening door snaps Haitani out of his thoughts... and judging by Anya's face, he is clearly not welcome here...

Why shouldn't Ran take his little bird back?
