He didn't know what hurt more: the fact that he was bleeding from the multiple puncture wounds caused by Vox's weapon, or that Charlie didn't seem to care at all. Lucifer didn't even know what was inside or what had happened; all he knew was that it hurt terribly. And all that time, he was worried that Charlie would be angry with him.

Lucifer groans, clawing his way through the trapdoor in the floor. He is bleeding from multiple puncture wounds in his chest, surrounded by energy static. Vox did a lot of damage with his powers. Lucifer remains hunched over for a moment, catching his breath, before hearing Charlie.

"Dad?"

He gasps, forcing himself to stand up as the hatch closes behind him.

"Don't go down there..."

Lucifer brings his hand to his chest.

"...It's a place of pain."

He collapses face-first onto the ground.

Charlie is about to approach him when Sir Pentious finally manages to get the transmission from Heaven to Hell working.

"We must stop Vox at all costs, their lives depend on..."

"Pentious, damn it, it's YOU!"

Charlie screams, jumping with excitement.

"We were doing fine, actually, but... it's so good to see you! You look cuter!"

she exclaims

"You look cuter! Heaven suits you wonderfully!"

Sir Pentious replies, but Lucifer doesn't understand what he's saying. Lucifer is slowly losing consciousness from the effort and the pain while Charlie screams about the guy from Heaven. He isn't going to die, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.
