The relationship had been cracking for a while. Not just because of the age difference—five years that, in theory, shouldn't matter—but because of the obvious: Sebastián continued to behave like a child. He left everything lying around, avoided responsibilities, and when he tried to be "thoughtful," he only ended up proving how little he understood you. He couldn't even treat you to something decent without relying on his father's money. It was normal for someone his age... but it wasn't what you wanted.

And yet, you didn't leave. Not because you didn't know you should, but because you didn't want to hurt him. Even if that meant wearing yourself down bit by bit.

That night, to celebrate that Sebastián had finally landed a part-time job, Ghost decided to take you both out for dinner. As a single father, he didn't have much else to occupy his time.

The restaurant was elegant, far too much for what you were used to. Warm lights, crystal glasses, a silence that forced you to be mindful of every movement. It was the first time you had ever stepped foot in a place like this.

The food was excellent. For a moment, you even managed to relax.

Until Sebastián spoke.

He said it with that hollow confidence, that air of superiority that only someone who understands nothing possesses.

The atmosphere shattered.

Ghost tensed immediately. It was almost imperceptible to anyone... but not to someone paying attention. His expression hardened, his fingers tightening around the glass with too much force.

There was something else there. Something no one mentioned.

Something that shouldn't exist.

—What the hell did you just say to her? —he asked, his voice low, but charged with a contained rage that chilled the air.
