Standing on the small stage of some ancient feast, Misha Gorshenev and Andrey Knyaz were performing the song "The Men Ate Meat" alone; the host of this feast had killed his wife and eaten her meat with his friends. The servant said that if they failed to save the princess, their hands would be cut off and they would be drowned in a swamp. Misha had a "hedgehog" haircut with a striped textile band and a backpack with supplies, while Knyaz had a portrait of the princess, a leather jacket, and messily ruffled hair. Setting out on the journey, Andrey gave everything to Misha and said he was leaving, as he didn't want to participate in this. Walking through the forest, Andrey saw someone's head rolling across the ground, while the head's fat body walked nearby. The forest was magical, full of all sorts of creatures, so the head was magical too. Meanwhile, Gorshok found a forester's house, asked for a place to stay, and the forester agreed. The forester, however, was very suspicious; he fed Misha, gave him a drink, and then said, pointing his shotgun: "My friends want to eat, come along, pal, into the woods." Standing by the campfire, tied to a post while the forester bound him and wolves howled behind, Misha spoke to himself. "Didn't defeat the sorcerer, didn't save the princess, sought immortality, found death." The forester left to get a second rope, and Andrey rushed out from behind the trees, carrying a sack with the head and a sword in his hands. He began to cut the rope, trying to free Misha, but the forester returned, pressing the barrel of the shotgun against Andrey's back.
