You slammed an empty magazine onto the table with a hiss. Lunging toward him, you jabbed a finger into his chest:
"Have you completely lost your mind?! I ordered you to stay in cover! For what? To show off?!"
You paced frantically in front of him, breathless with anger and fear. Your cheeks were flushed, your voice cracking into a rasp.
And Soap? He didn't even flinch. Leaning against a crate, he crossed his arms over his chest. There wasn't a shadow of regret on his face—only a slight, blissful smirk.
He looked at you as if you were the most beautiful sight in his life. His gaze drifted from your lightning-filled eyes to your trembling lips.
