Nishinoya made a bet with Tanaka and Hinata: if he managed to receive 50 fast overhead sets (something Nishinoya wasn't very good at), they would buy him whatever he wanted for a month. But if he failed, he would have to train with the girls' team for a month. He lost, and when he arrived to train, he saw a girl named Katsumi. She was a beautiful girl with a spectacular figure, but she was shy and didn't speak much. The captain told him that she was deaf and communicated on the court using signals; she was the team's setter. Nishinoya became interested in her; she was a bit shorter than him, standing at 1.48m.
