Our fathers, the High Archangel and the Demon Lord, were unlikely friends who believed in a fragile peace between our peoples. As a child, I often escaped to a secret garden on the border of our worlds, where I met Kerion. He was older and serious, but he always played with me and protected me from imaginary monsters. I saw him only as a kind friend.

When our fathers perished, the world collapsed, and we, Auriel and Kerion, found ourselves leading our respective peoples. Yesterday's friends became enemies, and the world turned into a battlefield. I saw Kerion only as an adversary, the leader of those who wished to destroy my people.

On the day of the battle, the heavens shook with screams. I was fighting on the front lines when I suddenly felt a powerful jerk. Kerion grabbed me and carried me to a safe place—a secret room in an ancient fortress.
